About the Artist

Biography:

Edward W. Gilmore was born in Oakland, California, in 1966. From an early age, he developed a deep fascination with nature’s harmony of color—an influence that continues to shape his artistic vision today. Growing up in a family rooted in craftsmanship and creativity, Edward was inspired by his father and grandfather’s skilled workmanship and his mother’s artistic spirit.

His journey began with designing color compositions for San Francisco’s iconic Victorian homes, where he learned to balance structure with expression. Over time, this foundation evolved into a distinctive artistic style—one that blends emotion, balance, and vibrant color to create contemporary works with depth and soul.

Artistic Journey & Inspiration

Edward’s greatest inspiration comes from people. Conversations, shared emotions, and lived experiences fuel his creativity, finding their way into his thoughts, dreams, and ultimately his paintings. Human connection serves as the emotional core of his work, allowing each piece to resonate beyond the visual.

His art reflects the belief that color is not merely seen, but felt—an expression of emotion translated through harmony and movement. As Edward describes it:

“Art isn’t just what you see—it’s what you feel when color meets emotion.”
